A New Carlisle man is accused of kicking a woman’s face and stealing her purse last December.

Nathan M. Allen, Jr., 19, pleaded not guilty to one count of robbery in Clark County Municipal Court on Tuesday. Bond was set at $25,000.

Clark County Sheriff’s deputies were sent to the 800 block of West Washington Street in New Carlisle at about 10:20 p.m. Dec. 20 on a report of an assault, according to a police report.

The victim told police Allen allegedly kicked her in the face, took her purse, pushed her to the ground and took off running. Another man allegedly stomped on her face and punched her, the victim said. Both Allen and the other man ran away from the scene and jumped into a red car, the report said.

Allen was taken into custody by deputies at about 3 a.m. Tuesday.
