Authorities in Utah arrested four men after they were accused of raping a 9-year-old girl as her mother smoked methamphetamine on Easter, the Uintah County Sheriff's Office said Sunday.
Deputies started investigating the alleged assault after receiving a report on March 29. The child was sleeping on a couch in a home in Uintah County on Easter when her mother went into the garage to visit friends and smoke meth, investigators said.
“During that time, the child was taken into another room in the home, where she was raped by the four men,” according to deputies.
Between March 29 and April 1, sheriff's deputies arrested Larson RonDeau, 36, Josiah RonDeau, 20, Jerry Flatlip, 29 and Randall Flatlip, 26, on charges of first-degree felony rape of a child and first-degree felony sodomy on a child. Authorities did not say how the suspects were related or knew the victim's mother.
Three of the suspects were reportedly out of town when sheriff's deputies started investigating the case.
Larson RonDeau told authorities Josiah RonDeau, Jerry Flatlip and Randall Flatlip left to visit Montana with a woman named Glynda RonDeau, KSTU reported. The victim's mother went to the Uitah County home on Easter to visit with Glynda RonDeau, according to the TV station.
