Jeramy L. Brock, 27, plead not guilty to multiple charges in the Clark County Municipal Court on Tuesday, including burglary, vandalism, resisting arrest, obstructing official business and violating a protection order. Bond was set at $75,000.

Springfield police were sent to a home in the 1300 block of Kenton Street after dispatchers received a 9-1-1 open line call. Dispatchers could hear a woman’s voice in the background saying, ‘Please leave, please leave, please leave,” according to a police report.

Officers were aware of the address as a place where Brock stays, the report said. Brock had a warrant out of Champaign County, it said. Police later saw him on the couch and were let in by a woman.

Brock refused to stand up multiple times, but one of the officers was able to place one handcuff around him. Brock began fighting and then allegedly grabbed the police officer’s arm and twisted it beneath him.

Officers struck Brock with a baton but he allegedly continued to fight, the report said. Officers then shot Brock twice with a Taser before securing the other handcuff, it said.

Brock then allegedly continued to resist arrest by becoming “dead weight”, forcing officers to drag him out to a police van, the report said.

Brock allegedly told the victim he was going to jail and wanted to see his children. The victim called 9-1-1 in the bathroom and left it open as long as possible without Brock knowing, the report said.

At the hospital, Brock was still angry and allegedly rocked a bed back-and-forth, flipping it on its side while he was still in it, a separate report said. The flip allegedly caused damage to the bed, the report said.

The police officer suffered a sprained wrist in the struggle, the report said.

Brock remains in the Clark County Jail, according to jail records.
