Man charged with felony child endangering

Franklin Price, 21, of Riverside, was arrested by Springfield police after an investigation into bruising and injuries to a toddler.

Officers were called to Springfield Regional Medical Center on April 9 to check to the toddler, who had “severe” bruises to his face, according to a Springfield Police Division report.

Doctors determined the injuries weren’t from a fall, police said, and after questioning Price — the boyfriend of the child’s mother — he allegedly admitted to hitting the boy earlier in the day. The child fell into furniture after the strike, Price said.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges in a Clark County Municipal Court arraignment Wednesday. He is booked in the Clark County Jail on $25,000 bond and has been ordered to have no contact with the child.

The child suffered no permanent injuries, family said.
