Clark County man kills himself outside of home

A man killed himself after an altercation with police in Clark County early this morning.

Deputies say they reported to 3065 Arthur Road before 5:00 a.m. after receiving a 911 call from a woman saying her boyfriend was drunk and had a gun. Once on scene, deputies saw the man outside in the bed of his trunk with a beer and a firearm, leading them to try calming him down.

A deputy then tased the man after he refused to cooperate, that’s when he allegedly grabbed his gun and shot himself in the head.

Witnesses reported seeing the body in the bed of a pickup truck in the backyard of the home.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrived on the scene around 6 a.m. The coroner arrived shortly after.

Officials with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the details at a press conference this morning.
