Cheryl Coker homicide: Texas EquuSearch invites public to join search

The Midwest chapter of Texas EquuSearch announced Saturday on social media that members of the public can join them on their March 30 search, but that there will be strict guidelines to follow.

Coker, 47, was last seen Oct. 2. Her disappearance is considered a homicide, and the Riverside Police Department announced last month that Coker’s husband, William “Bill” Coker, is a suspect. He has not been charged and has told News Center 7 that he is innocent: “I’ve never in my entire life hurt anyone,” he previously said.

Times and location for the March 30 search will be announced later, but any searcher must be at least 18, and bring proper ID, must be physically able to search, including going through brush; and be available for the entire day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to Texas EquuSearch.

Also, no use of cellphones, no posting on social media before, during or after the search is permitted, which could compromise the police investigation.
