Springfield police are investigating a second reporting of an indecent exposure case within 48 hours.
Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Maiden Lane in reference to a disorderly male, a police report says.
“On our arrival, officers spoke with victim who advised that a male had walked by the residence three times and exposed himself to her,” the report says.
The victim was doing lawn work when the unknown male walked through the alley beside her home.
“(The victim) felt the male was looking to steal something from the shed so she kept an eye on him and he walked away,” the report says.
On the second time he walked past her, the report says, he exposed himself to her.
The victim yelled at the suspect, the report says, and he ran away. She contacted authorities to make a report, the report says.
“The unknown white male is described as being a young teen about 5 feet 8 inches tall, skinny, afro-like dark hair wearing jean pants with no shirt,” the report says. “(the victim) reports the male had Nike shoes on that were white with some red and black on them.”
Officers were unable to find the suspect.
This is the second time officers responded to a report of indecent exposure in a week.
Springfield police began their investigation of the first incident Sunday evening when they were called to the 1600 block of East Main Street for a public indecency complaint.
“(The victim) advised that shortly before her call, while she was walking on the sidewalk … an unidentified adult … male approached her on the sidewalk,” the report says.
The woman said the suspect asked her a question and then exposed himself to her.
“(The woman) advised the male then got into a vehicle and fled the area eastbound on East Main Street in a white GMC Yukon,” the report says.
No arrest has been made in either case.
