Costco growing online sales through delivery service

Costco is continuing to grow its online sales business.

The retailer, which opened its first Dayton-area store in 2014, reported that it's been growing its e-commerce business with the help of Instacart, a third-party delivery service.

Business Insider reported while Costco had historically not made the same effort when it came to online sales as its competitors. But now that's starting to change and the company reported last week that its e-commerce sales climbed 28.5 percent in the company's second quarter

Customers who don't have a Costco membership can still shop online through Instacart. Supermarket News reported the Instacart partnership launched in October and is now at 441 of Costco's U.S. warehouses. All of its U.S. warehouses will have Instacart delivery by the end of the year.

Costco also has a two-day shipping service that ships to anywhere in the U.S.
