Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley will announce the Cincinnati Bengals first pick in the sixth round of the upcoming NFL draft.
The pick will be made at Triangle Park in Dayton on April 27 during a live telecast and celebration, city officials said today. The event will be from 2 to 6 p.m. and will have family friendly entertainment like inflatable play areas.
“Dayton love its sports,” the mayor said.
This morning, the Dayton City Commission had a reading of a resolution authorizing the city to accept the donation of a professional football field at Triangle Park.
The estimated $444,0000 turf field is being donated by the NFL and FieldTurf. The turf is the same kind used in the stadiums where the Seattle Seahawks and Atlanta Falcons play.
The field the NFL will construct in Dayton to honor the first ever NFL game will have the same turf as that used by the Seattle Seahawks and the Atlanta Falcons.
