Crews fight Champaign Co. structure fire

UPDATE @ 4:12 p.m.

The homeowner reported to fire officials she was outside mowing the lawn when she looked up and saw her house on fire, according to the Adams Twp. fire chief.

No one was inside the house at the time, but three dogs inside were able to get out safely.

UPDATE @ 2:56 p.m.

A house in the 4000 block of Church Road in Rosewood, Champaign County was destroyed today in a fire. The roof collapsed and the front walls are the only thing standing.

Mutual aid was also received from Champaign County Sheriff’s Office and fire departments from Adams Twp., West Liberty, Riverside and St. Paris-Johnson Twp.

FIRST REPORT

Emergency crews are battling a working structure fire in 4000 block of Church Road in Champaign County.

The blaze started about 1:15 p.m. and departments from Rosewood, St. Paris and West Liberty are on scene.
