Amazon offering new delivery option to Ohio apartment dwellers

Amazon’s newest package pickup method is heading to Ohio.

The Hub by Amazon, is now available for installation across the country, the online retailer announced Tuesday. Over 500,000 residents across the United States already have access to the Hub with thousands more gaining access each month, according to a release.

The new Hub is a locker system that will be located at apartment buildings. Apartment dwellers can use the Hub if they are worried about their packages getting stolen. Unlike the Amazon Locker, the Hub accepts all packages, not just Amazon purchases.

“We’re always striving to make things easier for our customers. Building on Amazon’s expertise in locker solutions, the Hub addresses frustrations from property owners, carriers and residents concerning package delivery,” said Patrick Supanc, director of Amazon Worldwide Lockers and Pickup.

There are Hub locations in Ohio, Amazon spokeswoman Alana Broadbent said but she would not share specific locations of those hubs.

Some property owners already using the Hub include AvalonBay, Fairfield Residential, Pinnacle, J.P. Morgan Asset Management, WinnResidential and Equity Residential.
