Online giant Amazon is building more visibility for the 300,000 small- and medium-sized businesses selling on its website.
The company recently launched “Amazon Storefronts,” a page on Amazon.com that features more than 1 million products from 20,000 of those businesses, according to a company release.

Amazon created the page so customers could shop small and medium businesses from across the nation easily, and within a secure platform, the statement said.
“We’ve created a custom, one-stop shopping experience for customers looking for interesting, innovative and high quality products from American businesses from all across the country,” said Nicholas Denissen, Amazon’s vice president.
Businesses first started selling on Amazon nearly two decades ago, Denissen said.
Each week a different store will be featured along with a business owner. Amazon is also launching its first ever national television commercial to advertise the businesses that sell on the online retailer’s site.
Small and medium businesses selling on Amazon are estimated to have created more than 900,000 jobs worldwide, according to Amazon’s Small Business Impact report.
