Wookies wanted: Star Wars costume contest during special screening at Air Force Museum

If that Wookie costume is collecting dust in your closet, now is the time to shake it out.

The Air Force Museum Theatre is hosting a Star Wars costume contest during the screening of the 2017 action blockbuster “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” at 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 22.

Costumes will be judged in three individual categories: best child, best villain and best hero; and in two group categories: best family and best team. Categories are limited to 10 contestants each, so you must register before the contest. You can register at afmuseum.com. Check-in for the costume contest begins at 3 p.m. in the museum lobby.

Every costume contest participant will also receive an official Air Force Museum dog tag.

The museum also emphasized that no weapons are permitted. However, lightsabers are definitely allowed.
