Banjo Society strums in new season in Clifton

CLIFTON – Banjos will usher in the 2018 season at the Clifton Opera House on Saturday, March 10.

The Kettering Banjo Society will be the premiere concert at 7:30 p.m. at the historic opera house, located at 5 S. Clay St.

The season will continue through fall with nearly 40 acts running the gamut of diverse entertainment. Guests can experience bluegrass, Celtic, country, jazz, blues, swing, classic rock and even drama.

Most performances will be Saturday evenings, although at least two Fridays are on the schedule. Other shows could be added as the season goes on.

Schmidt’s German Food Truck will be on hand Friday, selling German sausages and other foods from 5 p.m. until the concert’s start.

The venue will offer beverages and snacks for purchase. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted.

Admission at most shows is a $10 donation at the door; some acts cost more and the box office opens a half-hour before show time. Shows usually run from 7:30-9:15 p.m. and the opera house is handicapped accessible.
