Rascal Flatts, Justin Bieber: That’s what we call winning

With all the talk of “tiger blood” and “trolls” in the news these days, it was nice to have a bit of distraction last night.

Rascal Flatt’s “Nothing Like This” concert special was on ABC. The hour-long feature showed the guys — Columbus’ Gary LeVox, cousin Jay DeMarcus and pal Joe Don Rooney — in concert and behind the scenes shooting a new video with ... wait for it ... Justin Bieber.

If you have a “tween” girl, you already know who the fringe-banged teenage heartthrob is. If not, he’s a fringe-banged teenage heartthrob, equivalent to the Donny Osmond of my generation.

RF collaborated with the Biebs on his song “That Should be Me.”

Oh yeah, singer Natasha Bedingfield, who appears on RF’s latest album, “Nothing Like This,” joined the guys during their concert in St. Paul in January.

There’s some footage of her in there, too.

But back to the Biebs.

Young girls got all kinds of crazy with Gary after he took scissors to the infamous Bieber ’do and snipped off a lock!

When bandmate Jay posted the pictured, Gary started getting all kinds of “death threats” and hate mail.

“There was a 6-year-old that hit me with a Hannah Montana doll yelling at me for cutting Justin Bieber’s hair!” he told TVGuide.com.

To put a perspective on the Bieber hair, it’s a swoop that’s swept the nation. Even New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has a “Bieber” and he’s married to a supermodel.

When Ellen DeGeneres lamented she wished for a snippet for her birthday, Bieber surprised her on her show with a signed box containing the coveted clipping.

Ellen put the treasure on eBay, and after an intense bidding war, online casino Golden Palace emerged the victor, more than $40,000 later. That’s even more than a clump of Elvis Presley’s hair went for a few years ago!

The money from the auction will be donated to California-based Gentle Barn Foundation, a non-profit organization helping at-risk, inner-city and special-needs kids and abused farm animals.

No tigers there. Way to go Biebs and Rascal Flatts! Now, that’s what we call “winning.”
