Rapper Cupcakke's posts about suicide spark concern from friends, fans

Alarming messages sent from Chicago rapper Cupcakke's social media accounts Monday night have sparked a flurry of tweets from worried musicians, friends and fans.

"Im (sic) about to commit suicide," read one tweet posted by the "Quiz" rapper's verified Twitter account just before 8 p.m. EST.

Less than an hour later, the 21-year-old's Instagram account shared a screenshot of the tweet with the caption, "Thank you for everything y'all have done for me. I really appreciate it."

According to one friend, comedian Elijah Daniel, Chicago police conducted a wellness check on Cupcakke, whose legal name is Elizabeth Harris.

"Police not able to give me anymore details other than Elizabeth is OKAY and at the hospital," he tweeted about 2 a.m. EST Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Cupcakke's despondent posts received thousands of replies expressing support for the rapper.

"Sending love to @CupcakKe_rapper," fellow rapper Iggy Azalea tweeted. "I understand how hopeless and overwhelmed with negativity we can sometimes feel. I hope you'll take some time with those that really know YOU best; then when you're ready come back stronger than ever!"

As of 5 a.m. EST Tuesday, neither Cupcakke nor her management company had publicly released a statement about the incident.
