Netflix knows what shows you watch the most and the genre.
Time reported that the company has determined how fast or slow different genres of TV are binge-watched on the platform, according to Netflix's binge scale.
The scale goes from "shows to savor," which Netflix says are thought-provoking and open to interpretation, and "shows to devour," which draw an emotional response.
According to a news release, Netflix analyzed over 100 TV series in over 190 countries between October 2015 and May 2016. Data was compiled based on members completing the first season of a show, which was then organized into days and hours for measurement.
Netflix's scale says irreverent comedies like "Arrested Development," "BoJack Horseman" and "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" are at the savor end of the scale, with political dramas like "House of Cards" and "The West Wing" right next to it. Historical dramas like "Mad Men" are also on the savor end.
Toward the middle of the scale are superhero dramas like "Gotham" and "Marvel’s Jessica Jones" and crime dramas like "Better Call Saul" and "Fargo." Next to those are dramatic comedies, including "Nurse Jackie" and "Orange is the New Black."
Horror and thriller series, like "The Walking Dead" and "Breaking Bad," respectively, are at devour the end of the scale
