'Let's Go Crazy:' 'Hamilton' pays tribute to Prince

"Hamilton's" creator posted to social media shortly after news of the musician's death, saying that he was "mourning with you."

Lin-Manuel Miranda then told his followers to listen to Prince's music to help cope.

The cast of "Hamilton," dressed in their 18th century costumes, danced to "Let's Go Crazy," to honor the man and musician who inspired them before departing the stage.

The Huffington Post reported that the show's musical director, Alex Lacamoire ,worked all day on the tribute.

The cast of "The Color Purple" also paid tribute Thursday night with a gospel-like rendition of "Purple Rain."
