Greta Van Susteren leaves Fox News after 14 years

In a move that stunned fans and colleagues, longtime Fox News host Greta Van Susteren has left the network, effective immediately.

No reason was provided for the departure which was announced Tuesday morning. “We are grateful for Greta’s many contributions over the years and wish her continued success,” Fox co-presidents Jack Abernethy and Bill Shine said in a statement.

Van Susteren posted a message addressing her sudden exit on her Facebook page. In the message, Van Susteren said, "Fox has not felt like home to me for a few years."

Yes, I have left the Fox News Channel. 
On Thursday night, I made my decision and  informed Fox News of my decision ...

Brit Hume will take over Van Susteren’s duties as anchor for “On the Record.”

Geraldo Rivera responded to the news of Van Susteren's exit on Twitter.

The news broke at the same time it was announced 21st Century Fox had settled a sexual harassment lawsuit with former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson. In July, Carlson file suit, accusing former Fox CEO Roger Ailes of sexual harassment.
