Direct from Springfield: ‘The Simpsons’ Kwik-E-Mart opens in Myrtle Beach

Real life is mimicking the shows we have watched for almost 30 years as a real Kwik-E-Mart has opened up shop.

But the convenience store modeled on the one from “The Simpsons” isn’t in Springfield, Ohio, Springfield, Virginia, or any of the dozens of Springfield towns or townships, in the United States.

It’s actually located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, WBTW reported.

The Kwik-E-Mart opened last week at Broadway at the Beach.

It has tons of Simpsons memorabilia for sale and also has food items inspired by the show like Squishees and Lard Lad Donuts. There’s even Duff on the shelves, but it isn’t beer, but rather non-alcoholic energy drinks, WBTW reported.

The store will serve as the end of the line for fans who are leaving the Aztec Theater when it opens later this year.

The theater is also inspired by “The Simpsons” and will feature a Simpsons 4D movie experience, WBTW reported

Hal McCoy: Why Pete Rose play ‘Banned from Baseball’ is worth seeing

It was 1989 when Pete Rose was banned from baseball, and it was evident the repercussions would never die, not as long as baseball exists.  That’s because of the taint and stain placed on the game and because of Rose’s Type A personality, a mentality that won’t let it die from his perspective.   His lifetime (and beyond)...
