The Dock is a boathouse-shaped restaurant created by Jim and Patricia Schumann. The grounds leading to the formation of this innovative eatery began as the childhood residence of Jim and his family. In 1994 the owners opened their inventive redesign of the property as The Dock Food & Spirits.

Its manager, Dale Wacks, has been with the restaurant since 1996.

The Dock is open all year. Its pier-shaped entrance ramp givies support to guests in wheelchairs and shores up visitors in any weather. The indoor “fun, seaside atmosphere” has working fireplaces, waterfalls and ponds that encircle the colorful collage of aquatic and wildlife decor. Coinciding with the paradise theme, island music is performed live by artists on Fridays and Saturdays with no cover charge.

Its cuisine centers onseafood specialties, boneless pork chops, char-grilled chicken and steaks and a “create-your-own-pasta” menu.

A fully stocked bar offers happy hour from 4-7 p.m. throughout the week. At the start of your meal, freshly baked white and pumpernickel breads are brought to your table.

At the end of your meal, servers present you with a display tray of alluring desserts for your selection.
