Update 8:04 a.m. EDT April 19: Kodak Black was released from jail Thursday afternoon, People magazine reported. The rapper used a stack of cash, fanned out, to hide his face from cameras and fans as he left the jail, WKBW reported.

A court date has been scheduled for next month, CNN reported.

Original report: The Blast reported the 21-year-old rapper, whose real name is Bill K. Kapri, was arrested at the U.S.-Canada border while crossing the Queenston–Lewiston Bridge.

TMZ reported that, according to unnamed law enforcement sources, the rapper was driving a Cadillac Escalade and authorities found marijuana on him, as well as a Glock 9mm pistol that was not declared by Black or anyone else in the vehicle. Another vehicle, a Porsche, with three individuals inside was also traveling with the rapper. There were weapons and marijuana found in that car, according to TMZ.

Those specifics have been confirmed by officials in a New York State Police news release.

This is the latest incident involving Black. A Los Angeles radio station stopped playing his music after Black appeared on Instagram Live and made insensitive comments about Lauren London, who is mourning the loss of her longtime boyfriend, Nipsey Hussle.
