Movie theaters were raking in the dough over the Valentine's Day weekend, and the neighborhood drive-ins were no exception. But one California drive-in may want to think of their scheduling the next time a children's movie and one that's for adults only are released the same weekend.
A San Francisco area drive-in theater showed "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water" and "Fifty Shades of Grey" at the same time on two different screens.
According to KTVU, the screens at West Wind Solano Drive-in in Concord, California, face different directions, one facing north, the other facing west; but the arrangement isn't severe enough to totally block the view of patrons of one movie from another.
The screen is not viewable from a nearby highway, but neighboring homes do have a clear view according to KPIX.
One neighbor told the CBS station that it wasn't the first time to have a R-rated movie at the drive-in.
At least one parent complained to a theater worker, who they said was apologetic, agreeing it wasn't appropriate, citing other complaints to theater workers, KTVU reported.
