The investigation stemmed from a September incident that the LA DCFS would not confirm or deny was being investigated, but allegedly occurred between Pitt and one of his six children with his estranged wife Angelina Jolie.

Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt after two years of marriage Sept. 19.

A spokesperson for Jolie issued a statement to E! News Monday about their custody agreement:

"The six children will stay in their mother's custody, and the children will continue therapeutic visits with their father. This has been determined by childcare professionals to be in the children's best interest."

Perhaps the good news comes just in time, since Pitt has made his first public appearance since Jolie filed for divorce. People reported that he attended a private screening of "Moonlight," a movie his Plan B production company partnered with A24 to produce.

He was accompanied by Julia Roberts, who starred with him in "Ocean's Eleven" and "Ocean's Twelve."
