» The Latest: Russia responds to US with tariffs of its own
Trump imposed tariffs of 25 percent on steel imports and 10 percent on imported aluminum from several countries. The tariffs on the EU went into force on June 1. Trump said it was to protect U.S. security interests. The European slammed the move as protectionism and slapped counter-measures on U.S. products.
The list of impacted goods already includes things like orange juice, bourbon, cigarettes, smoking tobacco, motor boats and playing cards. So, what other U.S. goods could be impacted?
The Financial Times reported that dozens of products are set to be added to the retaliation list being drawn up by the European Commission. Other items likely to be included:
• ketchup
• frozen fish
• raisins
• suitcases
• adhesive bandages
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
