The low-cost transatlantic airline is announcing new international flight services from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport to Europe via Keflavik International Airport in Iceland.
Service from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky will be available four days a week, the airport announced on Wednesday morning. Flights to Keflavik International Airport are available from $99 one-way including taxes. Fares to WOW air’s additional locations from Cincinnati, such as London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Frankfurt, Dublin, Copenhagen and more, start at $149.
“Connecting the Tri-State community with additional nonstop international destinations has been a priority for CVG,” said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer, CVG. “WOW Air is one of the fastest growing, low-cost transatlantic carriers. With this new service, local travelers will not only have the benefit of nonstop travel to Iceland, but one-stop, low-cost service to more than 20 destinations across Europe, Israel and Canary Islands. We’re thrilled to be one of WOW’s newest U.S. markets, and look forward to growing their service from CVG.”
Flights start on May 10, 2018, and tickets are available to buy now.
Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport is expected to announce a new airline will add services at the nearby hub.
Airport officials said in a statement that they will announce news about a new airline coming to the airport at 7 a.m. on Wednesday. Low-cost carrier Southwest Airlines started services in June with eight daily flights to Chicago and Baltimore-Washington, after pulling all services from the Dayton International Airport.
CVG is currently served by Delta Air Lines, Air Canada, Southwest Airlines, Allegiant Airlines, United Airlines, American Airlines, OneJet and Frontier Airlines. Other carriers like JetBlue Airlines, Spirit Airlines, Alaska Airlines, WOW air and Virgin America do not serve the local airport.
CVG is also the only airport in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky that has nonstop transoceanic service — offering flights to Paris, France nonstop on a year-round basis.
