Honda manufactures 25 millionth car, 18M of them in Ohio


Honda, one of the region’s largest employers, marked the manufacture of its 25 millionth vehicle this week, which was built in Marysville.

Honda employs about 1,400 people from Clark and Champaign counties. It builds vehicles at facilities in Ohio, Indiana and Alabama.

About 18 million of its vehicles have been manufactured in Ohio at sites in Marysville and East Liberty, said Rob May, plant manager in Marysville.

The 25 millionth vehicle, a 2018 Accord, will be delivered to a Honda dealer and sold to a customer, May said.

The 2018 Accord was recently named the North American Car of the year.
