Another Dayton-area manufacturer is looking for the right workers.
Silfex will host a career fair Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sinclair College in building 12, at the Great Hall, 444 W. 3rd Street, Dayton.
Silfex is hiring qualified CNC and 5-axis machinists to make state-of-the-art silicon components used to create high-technology devices, the Dayton Development Coalition said in an announcement.
Additional openings for engineers, machinists, maintenance technicians, manufacturing supervisors and more are available. Both full and part-time positions are open at Silfex operations in Eaton and Springfield.
Free parking is available underground at Sinclair Building 12.
Silfex was founded in Preble County and builds silicon components for everything from computer processors to cell phones to cars. The firm also grows silicon crystals at its existing plant in Eaton and will perform similar functions in Springfield.
The company is converting the 350,000-square-foot warehouse near the Prime Ohio Industrial Park in Springfield into a high-tech manufacturing plant that makes silicon products for a variety of markets.
The company has pledged to create more than 400 jobs over the next several years.
“Everything we make at Silfex will help create technology we use every day, like electronic components for vehicles, phones and other high-technology gear,” Kit Armstrong, Silfex general manager, said in the coalition’s statement. “At Silfex, you’ll receive great benefits, enjoy work-life balance and grow in a people-oriented environment that values collaboration and teamwork.”
Prospective job candidates should come prepared and bring at least three copies of their resumes.
