Recall roundup: parents, cyclists may need to check products

Dangerous drink ware, turkey fryers, and bicycle gears are among the latest recalls announced by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Holiday milk bottles by Crate and Barrel are being recalled because the plastic straw could break and cut you.

The acrylic bottle has a picture of a bear in a red sweater on it.

There is one report of the straw breaking but no one has been hurt.

Don’t use the bottle and contact Crate and Barrel at 800-451-8217 to get your money back.

Outdoor Gourmet Turkey Keg fryers are under recall because they could potentially catch on fire and burn you.

There are two reports of the fryers leaking oil from the spout, but no injuries.

Don’t use the fryer and contact Academy Sports + Outdoors at 888-922-2336 to return the keg for a full refund and a $50 gift card.

SRAM i-Motion 3 Internal gear hubs for bicycles are being recalled because the brakes may fail and cause you to crash.

There is one report of a rider receiving a minor injury and a total of five reports of brake failure.

The recalled hubs were sold separately but also were sold on these Electra model bikes:

  • Electra Cruiser Custom 3i
  • Electra Coaster 3i
  • Electra Hawaii 3i
  • Electra Hawaii 3i 24
  • Electra Straight 8

Contact SRAM at 800-346-2928 to receive a partial refund.

Some scuba diving transmitters are under recall because they may pose a drowning hazard.

Shearwater yellow diving pressure transmitters may fail when two transmitters are used during the same dive.

There is one report of loss of communication but no injuries.

The transmitter has the following code printed on it: FCC ID: MH8A.

The packaging will have the codes 13009 OR 13009-1 and an eight digit serial number starting with FK or BM.
