Chocolate, coffee shop opens in downtown Springfield

The smell of fresh coffee and chocolate filled the air in downtown Springfield as Winans Chocolates and Coffees opened its doors today.

Initially the local chocolate and coffee chain looked at Bechtle Avenue for their first Clark County location, but opted for the North Fountain Avenue store instead, in part because of improvements they saw happening downtown.

“We hope Winans can help to bring new faces downtown and people can see the progress downtown is making and all the new things it has to offer,” said Chandi Shah, the Springfield Winans’ co-owner.

The space in Springfield was most recently occupied by the Hub Gallery, which showcased local artwork.
