Sanders over Clinton in new New Hampshire poll

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is leading former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire, according to a new poll from Franklin Pierce University and the Boston Herald.

You can read the Boston Herald's coverage of its poll here.

The same poll shows Donald Trump leading the GOP field, with Jeb Bush second and Ohio Gov. John Kasich a close third in the first primary state.

This is the first poll to show the independent Vermont senator ahead of Clinton in the Democratic presidential race in New Hampshire. The poll has Sanders at 44 percent and Clinton at 37.

The Democrats will have their first debate in Nevada on Oct. 13. Other Democratic candidates Martin O'Malley, Jim Webb and Lincoln Chaffee polled low. However, Vice President Joe Biden, who has not announced a run, did get 9 percent in the poll.
