Kasich second in NH primary, polls say

Ohio Gov. John Kasich's presidential hopes are bolstered by multiple polls that show him in second place in the New Hampshire primary, behind front runner Donald Trump.

The Kasich campaign noted on Tuesday that a new poll from American Research Group shows 20 percent of New Hampshire Republican voters support him, up from 14 percent in American Research Group's earlier poll.

The poll shows 27 percent support Trump, 10 percent support U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, 9 percent support New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, and 9 percent support U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas.

Kasich has focused heavily on doing well in New Hampshire and says if he does well in the Granite State, he'll be able to continue his campaign and become the GOP nominee.

New Hampshire voters head to the polls on Feb. 9.
