Showers, storms expected today

The chance for showers and storms returns, with the best chances coming around sunset, Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Brett Collar said.  A few isolated showers and storms will be possible through the afternoon. Into the evening hours, the better chance for widespread showers and storms returns. Some could be strong to severe with gusty winds and locally heavy rain the biggest threats. Highs will be in the upper 70s and some spots may reach the lower 80s.

EXTENDED FORECAST

Sunday/Memorial Day: A dry day expected Monday with a mix of sun and clouds and less humidity. Highs will be in the middle to upper 70s.

Tuesday: A little bit of rain can't be ruled out early, otherwise it should be a dry day with partly cloudy skies. Highs will be in the middle 70s.

Wednesday: Partly sunny skies are expected with highs in the middle 70s.

Thursday: Temperatures will stay steady in the middle 70s under partly cloudy skies. There is the chance for more rain overnight into Friday.
