Friday will be a 'super awesome day'

Friday will be "a super awesome day!" Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Jamie Simpson said.

With sunny skies all day long it will be the warmest day in about two weeks, with temperatures reaching 50 degrees, Simpson said.

Currently, there is a wide temperature variation across the region. Temperatures today reached above 40 degrees almost everywhere in the Interstate 70 corridor south; reached near 40 from I-70 to about U.S. 36; and were only in the mid-30s north, where snow is still on the ground. Warmer weather on Friday is expected to melt the remaining snow.

A few clouds will appear at times tonight, but then will clear after midnight. Temperatures will drop to the 30s this evening, but will fall to the upper 20s by midnight in areas north. Overnight lows will range the mid-20s for most of the Miami Valley to the low 20s for areas north.
