Protesters Torch Vehicles, Hurl Rocks in Egypt

Scores of Egyptians assaulted the presidential palace with stones in a protest against Islamist President Mohamed Mursi on Friday (February 8). A few hundred protesters were gathered outside the presidential palace in Cairo late evening. Some threw stones and homemade bombs at the main gate. Police fired water cannons to scatter them. In Alexandria, police used tear gas to disperse a crowd of protesters who set fire to several cars.
