The wait for a Dayton Flyers coach continued Tuesday. Athletic Director Neil Sullivan said he planned to be deliberate and methodical in the search, while conceding there were advantages to getting it done sooner rather than later. Dayton fans were pulling out their hair all over town, seizing on the smallest shreds of evidence, but the search...

Archie Miller the ‘right guy’ for Indiana Hoosiers
Archie Miller saw a Dayton Daily News photographer in the stands at Assembly Hall as he left the court Monday after being introduced as the new coach of the Indiana Hoosiers. “I can’t get away from you,” he said with a laugh before shaking the photographer’s hand. Miller’s image appeared in the pages of the DDN...

Saturday was all-around nightmare for one Dayton Flyers recruit
The future of the Dayton Flyers’ 2017 recruiting class was up in the air Sunday, a day after coach Archie Miller was hired by the Indiana Hoosiers. The player who may be the top recruit in the class, Champlin Park (Minn.) point guard McKinley Wright, had an all-around bad day Saturday. He learned Miller was leaving hours before losing...

Dayton Flyers ‘wondering what the future holds’
The Dayton Flyers find themselves in limbo in the final week of March. Archie Miller will be introduced Monday in Bloomington, Ind., as the new head coach of the Indiana Hoosiers. Seven reasons the Dayton Flyers job will be highly coveted
The sun came up in Dayton on Sunday, even if it was a cloudy, ugly, rainy day. The weather didn’t improve the mood of fans of the Dayton Flyers, who were still processing the news of Archie Miller’s departure to Indiana. On the bright side, with or without Miller, the Dayton job will be highly coveted. The Flyers will have a new...

Dayton Flyers fans make their case to be next UD coach
To cheer up fans of the Dayton Flyers on a sad day, I asked them Saturday to tell me in 140 characters or less on Twitter why they should be the next UD basketball coach. Judging by their responses, it did brighten their day just a tad — even if everyone woke up Sunday getting used to the news that Archie Miller did indeed leave to...

Timeline: How did Archie Miller build Dayton into a basketball power?
The Archie Miller era in Dayton ended as it began — with little advance warning. Miller was not a big name when Dayton hired him in 2011. He is a big name now. His name has popped up in many major coaching searches over the last four seasons, and yet Miller managed to keep his plans a secret this weekend. No one knew anything beyond...

Flyers begin search for new coach, who could it be?
Neil Sullivan had a good answer for every question but the last one in a press conference at the Frericks Center on Saturday, hours after coach Archie Miller left the Dayton Flyers to take the reins of the Indiana Hoosiers. “Are you going to get a taller coach?” a reporter joked. Sullivan laughed. Archie Miller was many things...

Dayton Flyers made ‘aggressive’ push to keep Archie Miller
The Archie Miller era in Dayton ended with what’s known on Twitter as a “Woj bomb” at 12:28 p.m. Saturday. Adrian Wojnarowski‏, who breaks most of the big news in basketball, sent shock waves through the Dayton Flyers community with an 82-character tweet.
