Three story lines as Wright State tries to record its fourth straight 20-win season:
1 Defense must perform.
While the Raiders play some zone, they mostly play man-to-man, and can be relentless, especially with junior guard Vaughn Duggins on the floor.
WSU led the Horizon League allowing only 57.5 points a game last season, and that was without Duggins, who missed 29 games because of an injury.
2 Five juniors need to have big seasons.
Duggins, who should be a senior, gets an extra year because of his finger injury, and he was all-league before he was hurt. N’Gai Evans and Troy Tabler have stepped into starting roles, mostly by attrition, and have done well.
Scott Grote and Cooper Land are going to be counted upon more and more.
3 Better results inside.
Inside scoring has to improve. Cory Cooperwood did finish second in team scoring with 9.5 points per game last season, but he was the only true inside guy among the top six scorers.
The Raiders will rely on 6-foot-9 senior Ronnie Thomas to be more of a scoring presence along with Land and incoming freshman Paul Darkwa.
