FAIRBORN — Freshman guard Kim Demmings scored 22 points and dished out 10 assists, leading Wright State’s women’s team to an 80-70 defeat of Illinois-Chicago before a crowd of 276 in the Nutter Center on Thursday.
Demmings, who added three rebounds, a blocked shot and a steal, went 5-for-8 on 3-point attempts as the Raiders shot 50 percent from long range (15-of-30) in boosting their record to 17-7 overall, 8-2 in the Horizon League.
Courtney Boyd backed Demmings with 16 points, Kayla Lamotte had 14 and Molly Fox tied for game-high rebounding honors with 11.
