SPRINGFIELD — Aaron Huffman might be able to remember his last play in college football after all. The Wittenberg quarterback suffered a concussion in the team’s Division III national quarterfinal loss to Wisconsin-Whitewater last December and was shaken up so badly he didn’t remember the play.

Well, today, April 17, he will get one last chance to play quarterback in a Wittenberg helmet. Huffman will be one of four Tigers playing for the South team in the first OhioCollegeFootball.com Senior Bowl.

The game will be played at 1 p.m. at Upper Arlington High School’s Marv Moorhead Stadium. It will be shown at 7 p.m. on SportsTime Ohio.

“We’ve practiced the last three Sundays, and it’s gone pretty well,” Huffman said. “It’s an all-star game, so it’s pretty laid back. It’s a great opportunity to play with and against some great players. I know all the guys from our team are pretty excited.”

Wide receiver Patrick Williams, cornerback Brandyn Brown and linebacker Kyle Lohrman will also represent Wittenberg.

The game features Ohio college football players from all divisions. Ohio State kicker Aaron Pettrey will be a teammate of the Wittenberg players, and the South team’s other quarterback is Miami’s Daniel Raudabaugh.

Urbana University will also be well represented with four players: wide receiver Ian Iler, cornerback Troy Brookins, tight end Tariq Kalimullah and defensive lineman Shawn Lewis.

Huffman won’t have to learn any new plays. Wittenberg offensive coordinator Andy Mitchel will have the same position with the South team.

Huffman, who finished his career as Wittenberg’s all-time leading passer, called it an honor to be one of four quarterbacks selected to play. It’s also an opportunity to put that last play behind him.

“After going out on a low note, it’ll feel good to strap it up one more time,” he said. “I’ve definitely had to knock the rust off a little bit.”
