Area duo helps Cedarville outlast Knights

Southeastern graduate Alison Lemon scored a game-high 21 points and Northwestern grad Aubrey Siemon added 16 points and 19 rebounds as Cedarville University handled local rival Urbana 70-57 in women’s basketball action Tuesday, Nov. 24.

Caitlyn Brooks added 15 points, while Lydia Miller chipped in with 10 points for the Yellow Jackets (4-1). Unique Lane had 19 points for the Blue Knights (0-4).

Capital 55, Wittenberg 49 OT: Stephanie Boardman saw her first action of the season, scoring 17 points and grabbing nine rebounds, but it wasn’t enough for the Tigers (1-2).

Area men

Cedarville 69, Ohio Dominican 60: Ricardo Alliman had team highs of 18 points and 12 rebounds as Cedarville (5-2) kept Ohio Dominican (0-5) winless. Cedarville High grad Matt Harner added 14 points, while Austin Foote had 12 points and Brandon Sok chipped in with 10 points.

Wright State 69, Central Michigan 53: Vaughn Duggins scored 21 points and Todd Brown added 20 to lead Wright State past Central Michigan.

The Raiders (3-1) led 14-11 with 11:47 left in the first half before going on an 11-3 run, which began with six unanswered points. Vaughn capped the run with two free throws with 8:43 left in the half for a 25-14 lead.

Urbana 87, Indianapolis 77: After trailing 47-40 at the half, the Blue Knights outscored their foes 47-30 in the final 20 minutes to improve to 4-1. Clint Nicholson led the way with 19 points, while Charlton Connor had 16 points and Robert Wilson added 15 points for the winners.
