About the Flyers

Wright has set a UD single-season record for blocks with 48. Sean Finn held the previous mark with 46 in 2001-02. ... Huelsman and Warren are tied with Nate Green (1998-2003) for the career record for games played at UD with 133. ... The Flyers had a 15-rebound advantage against the Redbirds in the NIT first round and have outboarded foes by an Atlantic 10-leading 6.1 per game. ... UD’s ballhandling has been shaky. The team has almost as many assists (486) as turnovers (485) this season. ... The current senior class is tied with the 2004 graduates for the second-most career wins at UD with 90. The 1955 class of John Horan, Jack Sallee and Chris Harris holds the all-time mark with 94 wins.

About the Bearcats

Stephenson is the first Bearcat to win the Big East rookie of the year award, but the program has produced three other rookies of the year: DerMarr Johnson in Conference USA and Danny Fortson and Dontonio Wingfield in the Great Midwest Conference. ... The Bearcats shoot just 63.0 percent from the foul line. ... They’re outrebounding their opponents by plus-3.3 per game. ... They finished just 7-11 in the Big East but reached the quarterfinals of the league tourney by beating Rutgers and Louisville before falling on a last-second shot against West Virginia. The Bearcats are 8-9 all-time in NIT play, including 6-2 at home.

NIT apathy?

UC attracted a crowd of just 2,410 for its first-round win over Weber State. The Flyers played before a mere 5,127 fans in their opening-round victory against Illinois State. But the NIT isn’t a big draw in most places. Only three crowds surpassed 6,000 in 16 first-round games: 10,231 at Memphis, 9,112 at Wichita State and 6,822 at North Carolina.
