NEWARK, Del. — Elena Delle Donne scored 22 points to lead four Delaware players in double figures and the No. 12 Blue Hens defeated Virginia Commonwealth 68-49 on Sunday.
Delle Donne had 12 rebounds also for the Blue Hens (20-1, 11-0 Colonial Athletic Association), who have won 10 straight after their only blemish of the season against Maryland.
Danielle Parker had 16 points, Akeema Richards 12, and Lauren Carra 11 for the Blue Hens.
Courtney Hurt scored 19 points and Andrea Barbour added 17 for the Rams (13-9, 6-5).
After trailing by as many as 16 points in the first half, VCU cut Delaware's lead to 46-40 on Barbour's basket with 12:30 left. But the Blue Hens answered with a 10-2 run to take back control for good.
The 19-point margin was Delaware's biggest lead of the game.
