The West Liberty-Salem High School girls basketball team jumped out to a 17-5 first-quarter lead and held on to defeat host Urbana 54-50 in a non-conference contest Thursday.
Becka Peterson had 16 points and 12 rebounds and Maria Daulton chipped in 14 points, going 4-of-5 in 3-point shooting for the Tigers (9-5). Tricia Lacy, who averaged 23.6 points per game entering the game, had only 12 points to go with 11 rebounds. Kaley Moss added 15 points and seven assists for the Hillclimbers (9-4).
Shawnee 47, Southeastern 44: The host Braves outscored the Trojans 14-7 in the fourth quarter as Shawnee posted its third win in the last four games.
Jenna Erwin had a game-high 21 points and Taylor Perry added 13 points for Southeastern (7-7). India Davis scored eight of her 15 points in the fourth quarter and Carly Gregory also had 15 points for the Braves (7-8).
Dayton Christian 54, Emmanuel Christian 43: The Lions fell behind 21-9 after the first quarter and never recovered as Dayton Christian (10-2) snapped their four-game winning streak.
Hannah Decker led Emmanuel (6-8) with 16 points while teammates Megan Ball and Jessica Troutwine added 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Mechanicsburg 84, Catholic Central 55: The host Indians hit a season-high nine treys in winning their sixth straight game.
Tori Purk had 23 points, 25 rebounds and nine assists while Kristen Dunlap scored 18 for Mechanicsburg (10-2, 7-2 Ohio Heritage Conference). Taylor Johnson hit five 3-pointers and scored 23 points, while Paige Lewis added 22 for the Irish (5-10, 2-9 OHC).
Cedarville 51, Northeastern 43: The host Indians jumped out to a 17-9 first-quarter lead and held on to even their record at 7-7.
Emily Sheridan scored 18 points and Emily Aviles and Lauren Wickline both had 11 points for Cedarville (2-6 OHC). Haley Sparks scored 18 points and Haley McCohn tossed in 11 points for the Jets (2-12, 0-9 OHC).
Clinton Massie 64, Greeneview 46: Ashton Lovely had a game-high 26 points as the Rams (10-3) had a four-game winning streak snapped.
