WEST LIBERTY — Landon Hormann hit 1-of-2 free throws with 0.1 seconds left in the fourth quarter to send the game into overtime as West Liberty-Salem upset Catholic Central 65-61 in boys high school basketball action on Friday.

A 3-pointer by Hormann and Max Bailey gave the Tigers (2-5, 2-4 Ohio Heritage Conference) a five-point lead in overtime, and they held on to win.

Brian Kelly led Central with 28 points. Hormann had 24 points on 8-of-11 shooting.

Southeastern 46, Northeastern 33: Duncan Mercer led the Trojans (4-3, 4-2 OHC) with 15 points.

Greeneview 67, London 48: The game was tied at 29-29 at halftime, but Greeneview (7-1) outscored London 38-19 in the second half to win the championship. Evan Bradds had 21 points.

Girls hoops

Kenton Ridge 54, Digital, Harbor, Md. 45: Mariah Harris scored 15 points as the Cougars overcame a slow start to win at the Braggin’ Rights Classic in Mason. Kenton Ridge trailed 16-7 after the first quarter and 23-17 at half. The Cougars went on a 18-7 run in the fourth quarter to improve to 8-0.

Wrestling

GMVWA: Springfield sophomore Devin Nye pinned top-seeded Nathan Martin of Butler in the finals to win the 220-pound weight class of the Greater Miami Valley Wrestling Association Holiday Tournament at Wright State.

Nye went 5-0 with four pins. Also placing for the Wildcats were Darryl Grayson, who finished third at 5-1. He beat Colin Day of Kenton Ridge 16-5 in their consolation final. Springfield’s Aaron Cosby was seventh.

KR was 14th with 95.5 points, and Springfield was 15th with 92.

Besides Day’s fourth place for KR, Preston Bowshier (126) and Bobby Mounts (220) were runners-up.

Greeneview was 41st and Tecumseh 53rd.

Lima Catholic tourney: Northeastern was 10th and Urbana 12th at the Lima Central Catholic Holiday Invitational.

Sam Harris was the champion at 195, while Donnie Scott (170) and Tony Kitchen (126) were runner-up and Ben Cash (285) was fifth for Urbana.

Cole Howard (145) led the Jets with a fifth-place finish, while Baylor Deselem (138) was seventh and Justin Parcells (132) was eighth.

Swimming

The Catholic Central girls and Shawnee boys won the team titles at the Bellefontaine Invitational.

Double winners from the area were: Central’s Alison Lohnes, 200-yard freestyle (2 minutes, 7.13 seconds) and 100 butterfly (1:05.52); Shawnee’s Kendra Crew, 200 IM (2:15.27) and 100 breaststroke (1:08.87); Central’s Jeff Ross, 200 IM (2:13.99) and 100 butterfly (56.60); Shawnee’s Justin Crew, 200 free (1:56.90) and 500 free (5:13.56).
