WEST LIBERTY — Triad High School senior Kelsey Funderburgh scored 32 points to become the school’s all-time leading scorer as the undefeated Cardinals beat West Liberty-Salem 56-40 in Ohio Heritage Conference girls basketball action on Saturday.
Funderburgh has 1,303 points, surpassing the previous record of 1,275 set by Jenna Burton in 1999. She hit two 3-pointers in the first quarter for Triad (10-0, 7-0) to set the mark.
Becka Peterson had 11 points for West Liberty-Salem (7-4, 3-4 OHC), who snapped a 4-game winning streak.
Urbana 66, Indian Lake 51: Hillclimbers junior Trischa Lacy set a school record for 3-pointers in a game, nailing nine and scoring 32 points in a Central Buckeye Conference Mad River Division victory.
Kaley Moss added 12 points for Urbana (8-1, 4-0).
Greenon 49, Benjamin Logan 44: Gary Falkenbach earned his 100th coaching victory as the Knights improved to 8-2 and 4-1 in the CBC Mad River Divsion.
Whitney Robinson had 17 points and Teddi Tankersley added 11 for the Knights, who held the Raiders to just four points in the third quarter.
Southeastern 51, Northeastern 47: Jenna Erwin had 21 of her game-high 35 points in the second half as the Trojans (5-6, 4-3 OHC) outscored the Jets 17-7 in the fourth quarter to grab the win.
Haley McCohn and Haley Sparks each had 15 points and Madison King added 10 for the Jets (1-9, 0-7), who led 32-20 at the half.
Greeneview 67, Catholic Central 38: Ashton Lovely had 29 points and went a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line as the Rams led 21-7 after the first quarter.
Caitlin Walters had 13 points and Natasha Siebenaler added 10 for Greeneview (8-2, 5-1 OHC).
Marina Lyons and Taylor Johnson each had 14 points for Catholic Central (5-7, 2-5 OHC).
Graham 45, Northwestern 36: Taylor Dyke had 23 points and Lindsay Black added 10 as the Falcons (4-4, 3-1) cruised to a CBC Mad River Division victory.
Alison Viney had 14 points and Morgan Hosier added 10 for the Warriors (1-10, 0-5 CBC).
Piqua 48, Springfield 43: The Wildcats led 16-5 after the first quarter, but Piqua outscored them 31-22 in the second half.
Shonte Williams had 16 points for the Wildcats (4-6) and Ashley Tunstall had 12 points and 10 rebounds. Piqua is 3-9.
Mechanicsburg 78, Bradford 30: The Indians jumped out to a 33-9 halftime victory to improve to 7-2 overall.
Mechanicsburg had five players in double-figures. Jamie Dodane (19 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists) and Tori Purk (17 points, 12 rebounds) each had double-doubles, while Kristen Dunlap had 13 points, Brooke Dodane had 11 and Libby Huffman added 10. Bradford is 5-6.
Cedarville 41, Sidney Christian 15: Emily Aviles had 11 points for the Indians (4-6), who led 27-5 at the half.
Holly Spencer scored all 15 points for Sidney Christian.
