NEW CARLISLE — The Tecumseh High School girls basketball team overcame a big first-half deficit to climb within one point in the fourth quarter, but Northmont pulled away with free throws for a 59-54 victory on Monday.
The Arrows fell to 8-2, and their seven-game winning streak ended.
Northmont is 8-5.
Tecumseh trailed 20-8 after the first quarter and 33-20 at halftime, but it rallied in the second half to make it interesting. Bianca Quisenberry scored 19 points, and Megan Christmann had 16.
Kenton Ridge 57, Westerville South 55: Mariah Harris had a triple-double with 18 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists for Kenton Ridge.
Kenton Ridge ended a two-game losing streak and improved to 9-2.
Westerville South made it close with a 3-pointer with 3 seconds left in the game.
Stefanie Davis added 11 points for the Cougars.
Miami East 56, Urbana 44: The Hillclimbers led 19-13 after the first quarter, but Miami East dominated the middle two quarters, and Urbana’s six-game winning streak came to an end.
Trischa Lacy had 19 points for Urbana, and Kaley Moss scored 15.
Urbana fell to 8-2, while Miami East improved to 10-1 with its seventh straight win.
Southeastern 36, Bethel 25: The Trojans trailed winless Bethel (0-12) 16-12 at halftime and 22-21 after three quarters, but they won the fourth quarter 15-3.
Jenna Erwin led Southeastern (6-6) with 19 points. The Trojans have won three of their last four games.
Triad 74, Fairbanks 40: Kelsey Funderburgh scored 30 points for the Cardinals, who improved to a perfect 11-0.
