Wrestling Roundup: Graham wins 17th straight conference championship

BELLEFONTAINE — The Graham High School wrestling team had seven weight-class champions, and the Falcons won their 17th straight conference tournament title, winning the Central Buckeye Conference Mad River Division crown at Bellefontaine High School on Saturday.

Eli Stickey (106), Micah Jordan (126), Blake Kastl (145), Bo Jordan (152), Isaac Jordan (160), Huston Evans (182) and Darin Bovey (285) all finished first.

Graham finished with 337.5 points. Senior Ryan Taylor did not wrestle at 120 pounds because he was taking an ACT test.

Bobby Mounts was first at 170, and Kenton Ridge won its second straight Kenton Trail Division title and finished second overall with 191 points.

Urbana’s Sam Harris was first at 195 and was named Mad River Division wrestler of the year.

Shawnee’s Lucas Sparks was the other area champion, finishing first at 220.

OHC meet

Mechanicsburg senior Max Erwin was named the most valuable wrestler as the Indians won their fourth straight Ohio Heritage Conference Championship meet at Greeneview High School.

Logan Hartman (113), Austin Reese (120), Dalton Hiltibran (126), Joe Ziegler (132), Adam Tilley (138) and Erwin (152) placed first.

Mechanicsburg finished with 389 points. The Indians have won six of the last seven OHC meets.

Host Greeneview finished second with 280 points.

Mason Gallagher (106), Jacob McAdams (160), Armani Robinson (170) and Matt Matheny (195) all placed first for the Rams.

Central’s Troy Nave (182) and Jard Panstingel (220) placed first, and the Irish finished third with 232 points.

Northeastern’s Cole Howard was the 145-pound weight class champion as the Jets finished fourth (213).

Southeastern’s Spencer Wright (275) won the first conference championship in school history, going 3-0.
