Game of the week
Tecumseh at Shawnee boys, tonight, 7:30: The stakes won’t get much higher than tonight’s Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail Division rivalry game.
With a victory, the Braves (11-4, 7-1) can clinch their first outright CBC conference title since 2004.
Standing in their way is Tecumseh (12-4, 6-2), which needs a win to keep its CBC title hopes alive. The Arrows need to beat Shawnee and Kenton Ridge in their final two CBC Kenton Trail games to earn a share of their second title in three years.
The Arrows won the first matchup 51-34 on Jan. 6 in New Carlisle, outscoring the Braves 22-10 in the fourth quarter.
Shawnee is led by junior Jaelin Williams (17.6 points, 7.4 rebounds per game) and senior Derek Tincher (13.9 points, 9.5 rebounds pg).
The Arrows, who lost for the first time in 2012 on a last-second 3-pointer by Bellefontaine last Friday, are led by double-digit scorers Chase Culbertson (11.9 ppg) and Trent Mead (10.3 ppg). They’ve got four other plays scoring six or more points per game.
