Prep Roundup: Shawnee boys knock off Tippecanoe

TIPP CITY — The Shawnee High School boys basketball team stayed on top of the Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail Division with a 68-57 victory at Tippecanoe on Tuesday.

Derek Tincher scored a season-high 25 points, and Jaelin Williams tied his season high with 24 points for the Braves.

Shawnee improved to 4-2 and 3-0 in the CBC. In the final six minutes, the Braves made 18-of-24 free throws.

The Braves have a half-game lead over Tecumseh and Bellefontaine, who are each 2-1 in the Kenton Trail Division.

Kenton Ridge 76, Indian Lake 23: The Cougars (4-4) cruised to their third straight victory after ending the first quarter with a 22-3 lead.

Adam Roberson led Kenton Ridge with 17 points. Nick Lacey had 14. Nick Lias scored 13.

The Cougars had four players in double figures for the first time this season.

Greenon 78, Xenia Christian 51: The Knights (4-3) trailed 15-8 after the first quarter.

They then outscored the Ambassadors 26-8 in the second quarter, 13-10 in the third and 31-18 in the fourth.

Anthony Colletti had 20 points. It’s the fourth time in seven games he has scored at least 20 points.

Josh Pilcher scored 17. Cody Carpenter added 11, and Seth Currier scored 10.

Northeastern 58, Emmanuel Christian 29: Cody Parker had 21 points, and Daniel Lenk 18, for the Jets (4-6).

Emmanuel Christian fell to 2-6.

Stivers 88, Yellow Springs 75: Stivers broke open a close game by going 14-of-18 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter.

Greg Felder Jr. had a career-high 28 points for Yellow Springs

The Bulldogs (2-5) have lost three games in a row.

Girls

Urbana 60, Jonathan Alder 53: Kaley Moss went 10-of-12 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter and finished with 21 points for the Hillclimbers.

Urbana (7-1) won its fifth straight game. It trailed 28-22 at halftime, but outscored Alder 22-12 in the third quarter.

Trischa Lacy scored 22 points. That’s the fifth straight game she’s had at least 20 points.

West Liberty-Salem 40, Benjamin Logan 31: Becka Peterson had 17 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks. The Tigers improved to 7-3 with their fourth straight win.

Maria Daulton added 13.
