Coach’s comment: “We have a good mix of returning experience and young talent that makes us deeper than we have been in years past. With 33 girls out for the team this year, we will play a full JV schedule, which helps with our future. I look for us to have a very good season. Our defense will be young, but offensively we return our top three scorers from last year.”

Coach’s comment: “There’s some talent on the team. We’re just trying to get the girls meshed together. I’m looking to go .500 or better. We play a tough schedule with some D-I teams: Beavercreek and Centerville.”

FYI: The Cougars have 16 of 17 players who saw significant varsity time returning this season. Last year, they had their second most wins in the last 10 years.
Coach’s comment: “We will have a great chance to compete for a league title and high seed in the district tournament. We have had a lot of injuries early, but when our fitness returns we should be very strong. Nearly every player in the rotation will have two or three years experience playing varsity.”
Mechanicsburg
Coach: Lindsey Wagner, first season.

FYI: This is the first year Mechanicsburg has played a varsity schedule. Huff and Dodane are the team’s captains and top scoring threats. Wagner was an assistant coach last season. She is a native of Hillsboro, Ohio.
Coach’s comment: “Last year, we played nine versus nine and had to travel two hours just to fill the schedule. This year, we are going to be part of the league. We are going to be playing a full varsity schedule.”
